ABOUT ME
A Tale of Resilience and Passion

ALA'
ALQRAINI

My name is Ala', which means "bless" in Arabic, and my journey began in Amman, Jordan, where I was raised in a vibrant, diverse family of six girls and one boy. From a young age, while other girls in my neighborhood played typical games, I found my passion on the streets, captivated by football. What started as a hobby, quickly evolved into a lifelong passion that shaped my identity.
I had the honor of becoming a professional footballer and served as the first captain of the Jordan Women's National Team. Throughout my career, I competed in major tournaments such as the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Championship, the Asian Cup, the Arab Cup, and the Women's World Cup qualifiers. My commitment to the sport went beyond playing; I worked alongside the Jordan Football Association to promote football and empower more girls to take up the game, challenging traditional cultural norms in the process. I also embraced opportunities in coaching by leading the UAE National Team's U-14 girls and now share my insights as a commentator and analyst for women's World Cup matches on BEIN Sports.
Beyond the football pitch, I have dedicated myself to academic and professional excellence. I hold a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a Master’s in Global Business Management from Manchester Business School. Currently, I apply my skills and experience as the Senior Director of Digital and Customer Engagement and Capabilities at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals in Zurich.
My journey in football was filled with challenges and doubters, yet I was buoyed by a supportive family—especially my father, himself a sportsman. The sport taught me resilience, discipline, and commitment, fueling my determination to overcome obstacles and pursue my dreams relentlessly.
